The majestic capitol of Italy, Rome is the largest city in the central populated area and is home to a staggering 2.7 million residents. Located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsular, Rome sits on the Tiber River. Rome’s climate can be best classified as a Mediterranean climate, with beautiful, warm springs mild autumns, sunny Octobers and Tropical weather in August is typical of the natural cycle of its weather patterns. In the past, it would snow in Italy between December and February but in recent times this is occurring less. Before, in traditional Italy, businesses would close for the month of August and have their vacations visiting other resorts but this is changing in response to the continued growth in the tourism industry and the increase in business. Now the city remains open for business for the entire duration of the summer.

Rome is one the world’s premier tourism destinations and Romans take tourism very seriously. There is no lack of activity for the visitor to enjoy and no shortage on places to visit. There’s beautiful, period, architecture to enjoy as well as out door attractions for the out door enthusiast such as parks and gardens, fountains and aqueducts, statues, bridges, catacombs and a variety of other attractions year round. Considering that Rome was one of the most powerful, and respected world powers in eras past, it’s no surprise that there exist thriving industries in art, music, education, fashion and sports in modern day Rome.

Unfortunately, the events that attract the most attendance from visitors and tourists are the very events that grab the interest of the collective population, natives and residents alike as well. On the bright side, these events are usually quite exciting often involving costumes, parades, music and other imagery so with all the distractions, patrons don’t seem notice the long queues and if they do, they don’t seem to mind very much if at all.
