AS Roma
Associazione Sportiva Roma, is also called Roma, is professional Italian club based in Rome. The club was formed by merging three older clubs Roman FC, SS Alba-Audace and Fortitudo-Pro Roma SGS by Italo Foschi. The aim was to give Rome a more powerful club than those in the northern Italian clubs. The mission was accomplished with Roma having participated in the top-tier of Italian football for all of their existence bar one season in the early 50s, for their 58th season in a row (77th overall).
The club’s base is at present is Stadio Olimpico, this is a 7300 capacity stadium, which they are forced to share with their arch rivals SS Lazio. In September 2007 the club has started to plan to build a new stadium with a 56,000 capacity on the western suburbs of Rome. It is modeled on the lines of an English football stadium where the fan can witness the game more closely
Roma’s uniform is a maroon-red with golden yellow trim offers the customary colors of the historical city; the Comune di Roma’s official seal also has the same color. The gold represents God in Roman Catholicism, and maroon is the color of imperial power. Black socks and white shorts are normally worn with the maroon red shirt.

Serie A: won-3, Runner up -10, Coppa Italia: won-9, Runner up-6; Supercoppa Italiana won-2 runner up-3; European Cup/ UEFA Champion league and UEFA Cup Runner up once each. And winners in inter-Cities Fairs cup, Serie B, Anglo-Italian Cup once each time, and runners up once in the Anglo-Italian League Cup.
Associazione Sportiva Roma in 1999 became a joint stock company and subsequently listed in the Italian stock exchange.
