My family of 5 (dad, mom and 3 kids over the age of 10) are wanting to visit 3 days in Rome and 3 in Florence. We want dirt cheap housing as we will be out and about most of the time.
1.Where do you suggest we stay?

2.Are there cheap prices for my kids such as "student" passes?

3. What is the safest and most economical form of transport?

Thank you
